Equality and Diversity

Our Policy is designed to ensure and promote equality and inclusion, supporting the ethos and requirements of the Equality Act 2010 for all visitors to our Practice.

We are dedicated to:

  1. Treating all visitors with dignity and respect.
  2. Promoting equal opportunities for both men and women.
  3. Zero tolerance towards any form of discrimination or perceived discrimination, as well as harassment, based on age, sex, gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or belief.
  4. Providing equal treatment and services, including the ability to register with the Practice, to all visitors regardless of age, sex, marital status, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, medical condition, religion, or belief.

This Policy applies to the general public, including patients, their families, visitors, and contractors.

Procedure:

Discrimination by the Practice or Visitors/Patients against you:

If you believe you have been discriminated against:

  1. Please report the matter to the Practice Manager.
  2. The Practice Manager will conduct a thorough and confidential investigation within 14 working days.
  3. The Practice Manager will gather the facts and determine whether discrimination has occurred. You will be informed of the investigation’s outcome within 14 working days.
  4. If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may file a formal complaint through our Complaints Procedure.

Discrimination against our Practice staff:

Our Practice will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment towards our staff by any visitor. Any visitor who engages in discriminatory or harassing behavior towards our staff will be immediately asked to leave the Practice premises. If the visitor is a patient, the Practice Management may also consider removing them from the Practice list, depending on the severity of the behaviour.
